Winemaking:
Nacional Vintage Port comes from a small portion of vineyards on some terraces on the Quinta do Noval estate. It is a legendary wine, produced only in exceptional years, of original (ungrafted) grapes. Vintage Port Wines are bottled in cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia after the second year of aging in French oak wood. Produced according to the traditional method of foot treading in classic stone called "lagares". A Vintage Port is only declared in years of exceptional quality.
