Niepoort Bastardo is a complex, aromatic, rich and lively red wine. It is a red wine full of freshness, showing aromas of wild red fruits, good minerality and solid but smooth tannins. It has medium structure and extraordinary acidity.
Winemaking:
Niepoort Bastardo is a red wine produced from red grapes of Bastardo from old vines from the Douro wine region. Grapes were deposited in stainless steel tanks where it took place a maceration process from two weeks with the stalks. After the maceration process, the grapes were crushed and the fermentation process has begun, at controlled temperatures into wood tanks. Then the wine was transferred to new's French oak barrels, where it has stayed for 20 months, in contact with the lees, prior to being bottled.

Niepoort Bastardo is a red wine that presents itself with an open red colour, presenting itself extraordinarily complex and elegant. It is a red wine that displays fantastic aromas of wild, fine and delicate red fruits, together with juicy and enveloping tannins and extraordinary acidity.
Store and Serve Advice:
Store in a cool place (15ºC). Serve at 15ºC-18ºC.
