Barbeito Malvasia 40 Years Old Vinho do Reitor is an intense but equally soft Madeira wine. It presents typical Malvasia notes such as cinnamon, curry, cloves, old cedar, dark chocolate, and toasted walnuts. In the mouth, it has an explosion of fresh flavors, a present but balanced acidity and a very fresh finish.
Winemaking:
Barbeito Malvasia Vinho do Reitor, 40 years old, a wine made in honor of Mr. Ângelo Augusto da Silva, Rector of the Jaime Moniz High School in 1924. This wine was produced from grapes from the vineyards that spread along the south coast of the Island. Madeira and were pressed in continuous pressing. Interruption of fermentation was induced with the addition of brandy. This wine staged by the traditional process, called "Canteiro", for 40 years in French oak barrels.
