Fonseca 20 Year Old Tawny Port is a very rich, sweet wine, full of concentration and very ripe fruit flavors. It's a gorgeous Port wine with a lot of freshness and hints of mandarin and dried fruits, while the wood ageing is concentrating the wine into its essence.
Winemaking:
Fonseca 20 Year Old Tawny Port are aged in Fonseca cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. Aged Tawny Port wines grow lighter in colour, as they throw their deposit in the cask rather than in the bottle. The process of racking contributes to the oxidation process whereby the wine's fruit qualities gradually diminish and its nutty characteristics are acquired. The wines drawn from this extensive reserve of aged ports are then carefully blended for balance and continuity of style.
