Tawnies with an age indication such as "10 year" are blended from different wines averaging 10 year. The prolonged ageing in small wooden casks confers the characteristic Tawny colour. The principle features of an aged tawny are the complexity of aromas, the freshness and a persistent bouquet and refinement. After dinner, old tawny is a good match with cheeses and especially chocolate based desserts. It can also be drunk as an aperitif, serve at room temperature or lightly chilled. Niepoort produces 10, 20 and 30 year old Tawny. The skilful ageing and blending of the different tawny ports is the art of master blender José Nogueira. Vinification: The tawnies are aged in small old oak casks, (550 l), in the cellars at Vila Nova de Gaia, over many years. The balanced marriage of the different characteristics and diverse ages is the art of the Niepoort master blender José Nogueira.

Barao de Vilar 10 Year Old Tawny Porto, is a delicious wine, with plenty of complex flavours, fresh aromas of ripe fruits, raisins, and a slight touches of a candied orange peel. It's well structured, rich, dense, very fragrant and with a very good acidity.
Quinta da Gaivosa 10 Year Old White Port has an amber color. It is a wine that presents a great complexity, with several floral notes, spices, dried orange peel, maple syrup and almonds. It is full bodied and very well worked by time, combining the different aromas of fresh and young fruits, ageing in wood and a delicious acidity.
Maynards 10 Year Old Tawny Port has a deep brick colour with amber rim. It shows beautiful aromas of dried fruits, honey flavours and a touches of vanilla, combined with ripe berry fruit. It has a silky texture with a long and clean ending.
Kopke 10 Year Tawny Port has a golden honey colour. It has deep red fruit flavours and a mouth-filling richness.The red fruit structure merges easily into a more mature, nutty character. It has a smooth, rich, chocolate texture. Its dryness, of wood ageing, is shown through the sweet caramel that leads to the magnificent aftertaste.
Elegant aroma reminiscent of ripe tangerine, with delicate almond nuances. Rich nutty palate, full bodied and with a fresh acidity.
